Pedestrian corridors

Pedestrian activity in Downtown Vancouver will increase significantly during the 2010 Winter Games. To meet this increased demand, a number of roads that connect venues and celebration sites will be closed to vehicles from 12 noon to midnight, between February 12 to 28, 2010:
- Granville St between Smithe St and Cordova St
- Robson St between Bute St and Beatty St
- The Hamilton/Mainland corridor between David Lam Park and Georgia St
- Beatty St between Smithe St and Dunsmuir St
The following sections of the pedestrian corridors will be closed 24 hours a day through to February 28, 2010.
- Granville between Dunsmuir Street and Smithe Street
- Robson Street between Hornby Street and Howe Street, and between Bute Street and Thurlow Street (south parking lane only)
- Mainland/Hamilton between Georgia Street and Nelson Street (east side only)
- Pacific Boulevard between Davie Street and Homer Street (east parking lane only)
- Beatty Street between Dunsmuir and Georgia Street (east lanes only)
- Georgia Street between Hamilton Street and Beatty Street (northern lanes of street only).
These pedestrian corridors will come alive during the Games with street lighting, banners, street vendors and more. Downtown Vancouver will be the place to be during Games time, whether you’re attending an Olympic event or just enjoying the energy of thousands of locals and visitors from around the world.
