Paralympic Transportation Plan

The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games will begin on March 12, and end on March 21, 2010. Activity levels on City streets during this period will be closer to regular conditions. No Olympic Lanes are required for the Paralympic Games. There will be limited road closures and 24 hour parking and stopping restrictions around Paralympic Games venues in Vancouver during this period, as well as some temporary pedestrian corridors to support the Paralympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony at BC Place on March 12, 2010.

Temporary parking and stopping restrictions on the following streets will continue to be in effect through to March 21, 2010 in support of the Paralympic Games:

  • Hastings St between Main St and Burrard St
  • Smithe St between Expo St and Howe St
  • Nelson St between Thurlow St and Beatty St
  • King Edward Ave between Oak St and Sophia St
  • Cambie St between King Edward Ave and 33rd Ave
  • 2nd/6th Ave between Hemlock St to Main St
  • Main St from 2nd Ave to Terminal Ave
